Our Story
Billow & Breeze was born from a love of the coast, creativity and family.
Family is so important to us. And here we are: Logan, Dawn, Paul & Aiden
Created during lockdown, Billow & Breeze began as a way to build something meaningful for the future — especially for Aiden who has a very rare genetic condition, limiting some of his capabilities but certainly not his creativity and enthusiasm — while also bringing together a lifelong love of making, designing and working with coastal-inspired pieces.
Although the business itself is new, the creativity behind it goes back much further. Over 20 years ago, while living on the east coast of America before the twins were born, I decorated shells as a creative outlet. Years later, that early love of transforming shells into something beautiful has found its way back into my life and become a central part of Billow & Breeze.
Based in Stranraer, on the shores of Loch Ryan in south-west Scotland, we create and curate coastal-inspired gifts, home fragrance and handcrafted jewellery with a strong connection to the sea. Many of our pieces begin with materials gathered, sourced or inspired by the coastline around us — from oyster and scallop shells to sea glass, sea pottery and beach-inspired colours and textures.

Our handmade shell gifts are at the heart of what we do. Each shell is carefully cleaned, prepared, decorated and finished by hand, turning something natural and often overlooked into a unique keepsake, trinket dish, hanging decoration, candle, charm or personalised gift. No two shells are ever the same, which means every finished piece has its own shape, character and story.
Alongside our own handmade creations, we also stock a carefully chosen range of gifts, home decor and artisan pieces from makers and small businesses we love, including favourites from across the UK and Portugal. Everything is selected to sit beautifully with our relaxed coastal style — thoughtful, gift-worthy and just a little bit different.
