A beautiful hand-decorated scallop shell, finished to show off its natural coastal charm. The underside has been left in its lovely natural tones, then sealed with a clear coat of UV resin with a subtle touch of gold mica for a soft shimmer and a little extra special zing.

This one features a vibrant turquoise and green floral paisley design with hints of orange and intricate decorative detail, finished with a gold-edged trim.

Each shell is finished on both sides with durable UV resin, making it waterproof, hard-wearing and easy to wipe clean. Perfect as a trinket dish for jewellery, rings and keepsakes, or as a unique coastal soap dish for your bathroom or kitchen.

Every scallop shell is naturally one of a kind, so shape, colour and markings will vary slightly, making each piece completely unique.

Additional Information

These stunning oyster shells come from the shores of Loch Ryan in the south west of Scotland, next to the town of Stranraer. One of the largest and oldest natural oyster beds in Scotland, dating back to 1701, it is at the heart of conservation methods around the world. The oyster shells are repurposed, washed, painted then decoupaged by hand before being hand finished with gold leaf (or silver leaf, etc., depending on the design). Each one is, by its nature, unique. A stunning gift to take away from a beautiful part of the world.
