  • Ethically & Locally Sourced
  • Eco-friendly & Sustainable

A beautiful hand-decorated Loch Ryan oyster shell featuring a black and white sheet music design, finished with elegant gold leaf detailing. The outer shell has also been hand painted with liquid gold leaf, giving the piece a luxurious finish from every angle.

Each shell is carefully cleaned, prepared, decorated and sealed by hand, transforming a natural oyster shell into a unique trinket dish, decorative piece or coastal keepsake.

As oyster shells are naturally formed, every shell is completely individual. Size, shape, markings and texture will vary slightly from the photographs, making each finished piece truly one of a kind.

Our shells are ethically and locally sourced from the south-west coast of Scotland. By reusing and transforming these beautiful natural materials, we are proud to create pieces that celebrate the coast while supporting more sustainable and environmentally conscious choices.

Finished with non-toxic paints, liquid gold leaf and fully cured UV resin for a glossy, durable finish.

Additional Information

These stunning oyster shells come from the shores of Loch Ryan in the south west of Scotland, next to the town of Stranraer. One of the largest and oldest natural oyster beds in Scotland, dating back to 1701, it is at the heart of conservation methods around the world. The oyster shells are repurposed, washed, painted then decoupaged by hand before being hand finished with gold leaf (or silver leaf, etc., depending on the design). Each one is, by its nature, unique. A stunning gift to take away from a beautiful part of the world.
